Attorney DeRouen has strived to make her mark in the justice system by advocating for families, defending those accused of crimes, and litigating claims for victims of auto-accidents. The DeRouen Law Firm (“DLF”) was founded on the principle that our clients are family.
“I care about my clients because I can relate. I share a common understanding of what my clients are experiencing when they walk into my office. Experiences that very few attorneys have or are too afraid to admit. I’ve been arrested; I’ve gone through a custody battle with my son; and I’ve been involved in an accident that could have ended my life. When I see my clients, I see myself and I want to do everything in my power to help.” – Attorney DeRouen
Prior to founding DLF, Attorney DeRouen worked for the Texas Legislature under the Honorable Senator John Whitmire who is chair of the criminal justice committee. There she contributed and developed initiatives related to major criminal justice reforms. Motivated and ambitious to learn more areas of the law, DeRouen worked with one of the leading insurance companies in the United States as a coverage and liability adjuster. There she mastered the art of identifying the tricks and tactics used by insurance companies to prevent victims from obtaining full compensation for their injuries. She later worked for two of Houston’s premier personal injury firms where she learned the skills necessary to evaluate and try personal injury and civil litigation cases. While there, she helped recover over $15,000,000 in money damages on behalf of her clients. Her experience, passion, and advocacy for her clients has grown DLF tremendously and landed her opportunities to represent clients in the NBA and NFL.
She is a trailblazer in her community and has been honored numerous of times because of her philanthropy work. She is the founder of Project 4-Way and the social media platform @WomenofLaw.
